Children can suffer because of AIDS, even when they don't have the disease themselves. When a parent dies prematurely, a child's world collapses. Anxiety, depression and despair are common as a child tries to adjust to life without his or her parents. And if dealing with grief isn't difficult enough, children are sometimes shunned by the community because they are feared. At a time when emotional support is needed most, people often turn away. It's usually not intentional. It happens because there In spite of the disastrous statistics surrounding the AIDS pandemic, there is are many myths and misinformation about HIV/AIDS

HIV/AIDS provides an opportunity for the Christian church and community to share the love of Christ with those who are suffering from the disease. HIV/AIDS Medical Programs

 

With 42 million men, women, and children infected with HIV/AIDS, the medical needs facing mission hospitals and other medical facilities are enormous. Your gifts will assist programs that provide medical care, including medications and counseling to prevent mother-to-child transmission, for those infected with HIV. A gift of $15 can supply medication and post-natal counseling to prevent one HIV-infected mother from passing the virus on to her child. Click here to support

Working with vulnerable children is a concerted effort.
It needs a lot of hands to be put together, and a lot of ideas.
The orphan problem does not only belong to people with orphans.
It is everybody’s problem

 Throughout Africa, thousands of community-based organizations are addressing the needs of children and families made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS. These organizations are strengthening the traditional safety net of the extended family through a range of vital programs and services. Often operating with minimal funding and with a great deal of volunteer support, community-based groups are the frontline response to the needs of children affected by AIDS. Very few funds are reaching this grassroots level.
